Job Description:

The Payroll Support Specialist will report to the Payroll Manager, providing support to the US and Canadian Payroll Teams. Responsibilities include new hire onboarding, payroll processing validations, research for escalated inquiries, payroll reporting, and termination/off-cycle payments processing. This role involves collaboration with external payroll vendors, internal project teams, and regional/global payroll units.

Responsibilities for Payroll Support Specialist Job in US Canada

  • Act as backup support for US and Canadian Payroll Specialists to ensure compliance with payroll policies and statutory requirements.
  • Support escalated tickets for both US and Canada teams.
  • Assist with timekeeping and gross-to-net reconciliations during payroll processes.
  • Maintain accurate and timely information for internal and external customers with clear communication skills.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws governing payroll processing.
  • Assist in overseeing the payroll process, validating accuracy in employee payments and governmental filings.
  • Recommend process improvements and procedural changes to ensure compliance.
  • Assist with governmental reporting/compliance and audits.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee and payroll information.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Strong communication skills (email, Zoom, etc.).
  • Ability to handle timekeeping and pay calculation rules across different states.
  • Experience in payroll processes and governmental reporting.
